Abstract
1468126 Spherical gob feeder guidance GENTHE & CO KG GLASHUTTENWERK 4 April 1975 [4 April 1974] 13952/75 Heading C1M A guide device for a spherical feeder for removing molten glass from a melt into a mould comprises a lance, with the feeder rotatably attached, having two pivot points co-operating with separate guide paths, to determine the position of the lance as it is moved towards and away from the melt furnace, which diverge on nearing the furnace, so that the feeder, on dipping into the melt, causes a surface flow thereof away from the dipping region. The degree of divergence of the guide paths may increase near the end of the travel of the lance towards the furnace and the guide paths may be adjustable in height.
