Abstract
1467815 Reciprocating motors BRITISH LEYLAND UK Ltd 13 June 1974 [14 June 1973] 28303/73 Heading H2A A crankshaft 11 is driven by a number of solenoid reciprocating motors each having a coil 17 energized by D.C. and a ferromagnetic slug 29 coupled to the crankshaft by a connecting rod 33. The motor disclosed has six solenoids in two groups of three (Fig. 2, not shown), the solenoids in each group being mounted 120 degrees apart and connected to one crank of the two-crank shaft. The motor may be used as a lubricating pump for an I.C. engine. The coils are energized in the appropriate sequence by a solid state generator (not shown).
