Abstract
1467714 Toothed gearing XEROX CORP 13 June 1974 [14 June 1973] 26246/74 Heading F2Q In order to eliminate back-lash in the gearing connecting shafts 42, 46 in an electrophotographic printing machine, meshing gears 40, 44 are each formed with four equally-spaced arcuate slots 82 which render the toothed peripheries of the gears resilient in the vicinity of the slots 82. The gears 40, 44 are arranged so that in the meshing zone a rigid portion 86 of one gear meshes a resilient portion of the other gear. Preferably the gears are made from plastics material.
