Abstract

1467532 Seat belt warning devices IRVIN INDUSTRIES Inc 9 Jan 1975 [5 Feb 1974] 980/75 Heading B7H [Also in Divisions F2 and E2] When a vehicle seat belt buckle (see Divisions E1-E2) is buckled an electric circuit is opened or closed to provide an indication of the buckled state. A finger 55 extending from a rotatable shaft 54 is moved when a clip 21 is inserted into the buckle 20, to thereby rotate shaft 54 and with it a coil spring 56. The ends 56a, 56b of spring 56 constitute electrical contacts for contact with U-shaped electrical connection elements 57, 58. In the embodiment of Figs. 3-12 connection element 57 is in continuous contact with end 56a and end 56b moves into contact with element 58 to close the circuit when the clip 21 is inserted. In the embodiment of Figs. 13, 14 end 56b is normally in contact with element 58<SP>1</SP> and is moved away therefrom to open the circuit when the clip 21 is inserted
