Abstract

1467331 Overcurrent detectors DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 28 Jan 1975 [14 Feb 1974] 6803/74 Addition to 1343981 Heading H2K To render an overload protective arrangement insensitive to acceptable transients, a monostable 7 is triggered if the load current exceeds its normal steady-state level (represented by V 1 ) and the contactor 3 is tripped if the load current is still exceeding this level at the cessation of the monostable output pulse. The contactor is also tripped, without any delay, if the current ever exceeds a second, higher level (V 2 ). The contactor 3 may be a thyristor with an opto-electronic isolator. The load current sensor 4 may be a magnetic amplifier or current transformers.
