Abstract

1467175 Magnetic brush developing apparatus ADDRESSOGRAPH MULTIGRAPH CORP 27 Feb 1974 [2 March 1973] 9009/74 Heading G2H Brushes are formed on the surfaces of a series of hollow non-magnetic rollers 14, each rotated in the same direction, and each containing magnets 16 with their polarities directed as shown in Fig. 3. Magnetic developer material is carried around the series of rollers as a continuous blanket, the particles thereof forming upstanding tufts when directly over the magnets and flattening as shown in the gaps between adjacent rollers, the four magnetic brushes thus formed applying developer to an electrostatic image carried on the surface of a rotating drum 10. Additional developer material is cascaded on to the back run of the said blanket by a conventional bucket system, Fig. 1, and surplus material is removed from the blanket by a doctor blade 30. A hopper 32 supplies fresh toner material as required.
