Abstract
1466649 Connector boxes R SCHMID 16 Sept 1975 [17 Sept 1974 13 June 1975] 38001/75 Heading H2E The two parts of a transparent plastics connector box are ultrasonically welded together and to the plastics cable sheaths as indicated by the chain lines 22. A connector box (Figs. 1 to 3, not shown) having one cable entry at each end has a circular cross-section, and others (Figs. 4, 5 and Figs. 6 to 12, not shown) having one cable entry at one end and 2, 3, 4 or 5 entries at the other have an elliptical cross-section. The cable entries, all of which lie in a plane passing through the major axes of the ellipses, may be of different sizes to correspond to the cable diameters passing therethrough. Longitudinal and transverse ribs, which may include glass fibres, may be formed on the inner and outer surfaces of the connector boxes tapering away at their ends, there being circular ribs formed at the intersections of the longitudinal and transverse ribs.
