Abstract

1465741 Valves CONTROLS CO OF AMERICA 17 Jan 1975 [17 Jan 1974] 02333/74 Heading F2V [Also in Division F4] A valve device for controlling fuel gas to a burner comprises a solenoid-actuated inlet valve 4 in series with a diaphragm-actuated pressure regulator valve 16 and a thermostatically-actuated outlet valve 12, which valve 12 is by-passed by a passage 21 and controlled by a system of levers incorporating a temperature setting cam 30, a bellows 40 communicating with a temperature sensing bulb and an electric switch 3 which controls the current to the solenoid. The valve 12 is connected via a lever 24 to a piston 25 and rod 26 which is received in a cup 34 fixed to a lever 33. The lever 33 is attached to the cam 30 and has a movable pivot 35 fixed to a lever 36 which, in turn is controlled by the bellows. The lever system is such that after the valve 12 has been closed the rod can overtravel and actuate the switch 3 via a lever 45 which allows the inlet valve to close, a further switch is also actuated by the lever 45 to control, e.g. an air circulation fan.
