Abstract

1465735 Excavators C G FEAKES and T E BARBER 25 July 1974 32960/74 Heading E1F A hitch for securing an implement, e.g. an excavator bucket, to a support arm, e.g. an arm pivoted on a tractor, the hitch comprising an attachment member and latching means. The attachment member is formed by a pair of plates 10, 11 joined by a web plate 12, has means, e.g. apertures 13, for allowing of securing of the member to the support, and has a slot, e.g. slots 15 in the plates 10, 11, formed therein for engagement with an arcuate mounting portion, e.g. rod 30, provided on the implement so that the attachment may be engaged with the arcuate mounting portion and pivoted therearound about an axis at right angles to the plane of the slot to and from a latched position. The latching means, e.g., spring biassed latch 25, is adapted to lock together the implement and attachment means when the slot of the latter has been engaged with the arcuate mounting portion and pivoted therearound to the latched position so as to prevent further relative movement between the body and the attachment member until the latch means has been released. Preferably a member having a concavity of the ends of the slots extends between the two plates 10, 11, and the or each slot may have a flared mouth for assisting entry of the arcuate mounting portion into the slot(s).
