1464962 Acyl derivatives of antibiotic WS- 4545 FUJISAWA PHARMACEUTICAL CO Ltd 9 May 1974 20523/74 Addition to 1349179 Heading C2C Novel compounds of the Formula (I) where R is a hexanoyl, heptanoyl, octanoyl, decanoyl, 2-methylbutyryl, 3-vinylpropionyl, 3 - methylcrotonyl, 3 - methoxycarbonylpropionyl, ethylthioacetyl, isopropylthioacetyl, 2 - methylthiopropionyl, t - butylthioacetyl, 2 - t - butylthiopropionyl, 2 - (3,4,5 - trimethoxy) - phenylacetyl or tetrahydro - 2 - thenoyl radical, may be obtained by reacting a compound of Formula I in which R is hydrogen, with an appropriate acylating derivative to give a monoacyl derivative. Such acylating agents are carboxylic acids ROH and their acid halides, acid anhydrides, acid amides, acid esters and acid azides. The products are also designated as acyl derivatives of antibiotic WS-4545. Pharmaceutical compositions having antibiotic action, especially against gram negative microorganisms, comprise compounds of Formula (I) in admixture with a solid, semi-solid or liquid pharmaceutical diluent or carries especially in forms for oral, parenteral or external application.
