Abstract

1464760 Making jewellery clasps GOZLAN BROS Ltd 8 Aug 1974 [4 April 1974] 35105/74 Heading B3A [Also in Divisions E2 and A3] A jewellery clasp includes a holder with an opening at one end for receiving a U-shaped spring latch folded from sheet form material, the latch being secured against release from the holder by engagement of a projection on the one in an aperture in the other, that limb of the latch having the aperture or the projection being bent adjacent its free end to present an actuator portion engageable by a user for pressing the one limb of the latch towards the other to allow release of the latch from the holder. In the form shown, the holder 10 is folded to form a metal blank (Fig. 4) and presents an aperture 24 which is bordered at one side by tabs 18, 20 extending in from side walls 14, 16 and which receives a projection 56 of a latch 11, also folded from a metal blank (Fig. 5). The latch also includes a thumb plate 52 and a backplate 44. In another embodiment the holder has a spring portion with an aperture or projection engageable by the latch.
