Abstract

1322447 Clasps ERNEST POBJOY Ltd 11 Sept 1971 42451/71 Heading E2A A snap clasp comprises a box 1 open at both ends, a spring 2 having a base portion 7, a spring arm 9 and a finger piece 11, the base portion being secured within the box adjacent one end, the spring arm extending to the other end of the box and terminating in a downwardly projecting flange 10 and the finger piece being attached to said flange and projecting beyond the other end of the box, and a tongue member 3 having a tongue downwardly tapered at one end portion and provided with a notch 17 at the top extending from the other end to cooperate with said flange and being adapted to slide within said box to enable the cooperating position of the notch and flange to be achieved. In the construction shown the box is formed with a slit in the bottom wall thereof and the tongue member includes a base plate 12 and a neck 13 which joins the base plate to the tongue, the neck being adapted to slide within the slit in the box. In use a bracelet or necklace is secured to the end of the tongue member having the notch and to the base of the spring.
