Abstract

1464741 Pipe couplings LEGRIS FRANCE SA 15 March 1974 [24 April 1973] 11685/74 Heading F2G A connector for a pipe 8 comprises a body member 1 having an opening therein to receive the pipe, a ring 3 force fitted within the opening, a clamp 9 slidably mounted in the ring 3, the clamp having jaws 9a with edges 9b which engage in the wall of the pipe 8 and the ring 3 having a frusto-conical surface 10 for causing such engagement, an annular member 11 for guiding the pipe 8 into the body 1, and an 0- ring 6 for sealing round the pipe. As an alternative to the guide 11, the pipe may be guided into the body 1 by a rolled-sheet metal lining sleeve either secured within the body 1 or mounted within the pipe 8 before insertion into the body of the connector. The ring 3 may be formed so as to be secured into the body 1 in place of the force fitting shown.
