Abstract
1463469 Conveying bottles and other brittle articles PLATMANUFAKTUR AB 26 March 1975 [10 April 1974] 12708/75 Heading B8A Bottles are conveyed between opposed conveyer belts 14, 14, so that they drop on to a rotating delivery disc 21. The latter has a surface layer 23 (Fig. 2) of rubber which overlies a space 24 filled with a viscous liquid. This is intended to give a dead reaction to the bottles, so that they do not bounce and so overturn. They are then fed onwards to a table 30 by a wheel 23 rotating about the axis of the disc 21, and a larger rotating wheel 22, the axis of which lies outside the periphery of the disc 21. The surfaces of the wheels 22 and 23, and of the belts 14, are faced with a smooth flexible layer beneath which is a thicker layer of a more resilient material such as plastics foam. In a modification (Fig. 3), the disc 23 is replaced by a conveyer belt 45 overlying a reservoir 47 for viscous liquid. The bottles are guided into the belts 14 by a shoot 40, and rings 41, 42, having radially inwardly directed bristles or resilient strips 41. Similar rings 43, 44 may be provided between the belts 14 and the belt 45. The belts 14 may be replaced by opposed rollers having similar resilient surfaces.
