Abstract
146,323. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. May 7, 1918, [Convention date]. Constant-tension winding and paying-out apparatus.-A winding-drum is provided with two simultaneously-acting driving-mechanisms, one of which overcomes frictional and inertia resistances and the other approximately compensates the weight of the load. The winding-drum A is driven by a handle a<2>, or by a motor, the power applied being sufficient to overcome frictional and inertia resistances, while the power required to balance the weight of the load is produced by an electric motor D suitably geared to the winding- drum and provided with a choking-coil E and resistance G in the circuits of the rotor and stator respectively, the stator resistance and rotor inductance values being set for a given value of load lifted. and are unaltered for changes of lifting or lowering speed.
