Abstract
1463075 Separating air CRYOPLANTS Ltd 8 April 1974 [13 April 1973] 18042/73 Heading F4P An air separation process comprises compressing feed air at 1, cooling it in exchanger 1 before passing it to column 3 which is at the same pressure as the compressed air, separating the air in column 3 into an O 2 -enriched bottoms and N 2 vapour, expanding the O 2 -enriched bottoms through valve 4 before heat exchanging it at 5 with the N 2 vapour which then returns to column 3 as reflux, and introducing liquid N 2 from storage 7 to cool column 3.
