Abstract

1462819 Heat-development XEROX CORP 5 July 1974 [9 July 1973] 29888/74 Heading G2A Apparatus for heat-developing exposed photosensitive film comprises a substantially enclosed cavity formed of two spaced plates, means to hold the non-emulsion side of the film in contact with one of the plates, and means to heat the plates uniformly to the same temperature. As shown, heat-developable film is advanced frame-by-frame through a development cavity formed between two separately heated plates 12 and 13 of complementary convex and concave cross-section. The general apparatus is as disclosed in Specification 1462818, (but full details of cavity configuration are not given). The film may be at a tension of 2-4 1b during development. The plate spacing may be 2.5-5 times the thickness of the film. Heating may be to 60‹F above the developing threshold temperature.
