Abstract

1462495 An azide formulation P P G INDUSTRIES Inc 20 Sept 1974 [3 Oct 1973] 41031/74 Heading A5E A granular agricultural product having a high content of an alkali or alkaline earth metal azide, a liability factor below 20%, as well as a particle size of 8-100 mesh (U.S. Standard), comprises 20-80% by wt. of the azide and 15-75% by wt of a diluent material which is at least one alkali metal halide. The preferred composition contains sodium azide with a stabilizer e.g. K2CO3 (1-5% by wt) and a binder (.2-10% by wt) e.g. sodium silicate, dextrin or polyvinyl alcohol and can be prepared using e.g. a pellitising disc or fluidised bed equipment.
