Abstract
1417813 Granular sodium dichloroisocyanurate FMC CORP 18 March 1974 [19 March 1973] 11957/74 Heading C2C Granular sodium dichloroisocyanurate is produced from powder that passes a 200 mesh (U.S. Standard screen) by feeding at 14 hydrated material containing 11-14À1% of water between two rolls 16 and 18, and one of the rolls is forced against the other with a force of 7500 Œ 50% lbs. per linear inch (1339À37 kgm. per linear cm.) to produce a continuous sheet 22 which is broken up into granules at 24 and sized, whereby the recycle of fines in the process is reduced from a major to a minor percentage. In an example a powder that passes a 230 mesh screen but not a 400 U.S. mesh screen is first hydrated with 14À1% of water to give the dihydrate and processed to 62À1 wt. per cent granular product and 37À9 wt. per cent fines for recycle of less than 70 U.S. mesh.
