Securing wheels &c. on shafts.-In shockabsorbing means for connecting motorcycle and other shafts to sleeves carrying gear-teeth &c., a pair of disks B2 C are splined to one member, such as the shaft A, and engage inclines or screw-threads on the other member D. One or more springs J press the disks apart or, in a modification, together, in which case they butt against projections on the sleeve or shaft, so that in each case the end thrust is self-contained. Holes in the shaft and sleeve convey lubricant, to the gearing.
