Abstract

1460008 Valves LEAFIELDS ENG Ltd 28 Nov 1974 [14 Sept 1973] 43355/73 Heading F2V In an inflation valve a spring biased closure member 20 is free to tilt over a small angle to ensure a good seal with a seat 18. An enlarged head 24 on the closure member spindle 23 limits the degree of tilt. An elastomeric portion 21 of the closure member presents a continuous surface within the area bounded by the contact between the closure member and the seat so that any possible leakage is confined to the closure member and seat contacting surfaces. In a second embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown) the closure member spindle depends from the contacting head of the closure member and in a third embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown) generally as Fig. 3, the tilting movement of the spindle is limited by projections (30) within the body.
