Abstract
1459869 Particle analysis systems KOMBINAT MEDIZIN-UND-LABORTECHNIK VEB 1 Feb 1974 [2 Feb 1973] 04839/74 Heading G1N In aperture type apparatus for the analysis of particles in a liquid suspension a monitoring circuit is provided to detect and clear a blocked aperture. The monitoring circuit comprises a first low-pass "ripple filter" to remove particle pulses. The signal is then fed through an attenuator 10 and a further long-time-constant low pass filter 8 to the respective inputs of a differential amplifier 11. A sudden change in D.C. level due to a blocked or partially blocked aperture provides a differential input due to the delayed response of the filter 8. This operates relay 13 to disconnect the filter input at 9; energize (i) indicator 15; (ii) device 16 to stop the measuring counter 6; and (iii) device 17 to clear the aperture. In a modification Fig. 2 (not shown) (i) contact 9 may be a change-over contact to connect a discharging bias to the filter 8 and (ii) the relay 13 may be de-energized by a timer contact controlling an automatic analysis apparatus.
