Abstract
1459785 Adsorbers CROFTSHAW (ENGS) Ltd and BRITISH CECA CO Ltd 7 Jan 1974 [26 April 1973] 30484/76 Divided out of 1459784 Headings B1L and BIT An absorber comprises container 1 containing hollow shelves which comprise horizontal permeable sections 2 and impermeable sections 3, are mounted on central tube 9 and support adsorbent beds 4 (e.g. activated charcoal). In use, e.g. for removing solvent from air, the gas enters at 6 and passes upwardly through the beds 4 to outlet 7 which is provided with non-return valve 11. The beds may be regenerated by steam distillation, the steam entering at 13 and discharging at 14. The sections 2 may be expanded metal or wire mesh. In Fig. 1 (not shown) the tube 9 does not extend through the uppermost section 2 and the outlet 7 is in the side wall of container 1.
