Abstract

1459784 Adsorbers CROFTSHAW (ENGS) Ltd 7 Jan 1974 [26 April 1973] 19881/73 Headings B1L and B1T An adsorber comprises cylindrical container 1 divided into two chamlbers by a partition comprising permeable horizontal sections 2 and impermeable sections 3, 8, each section 2 supporting a bed 4 of adsorbent (e.g. activated charcoal). In use, e.g. for removing solvent from air, the gas enters at 6 and flows upwardly through the beds 4 for discharge through outlet 7 which may be provided with a non-return valve (not shown). The beds 4 may be regenerated by steam distillation. The sections 2 may be expanded metal or wire mesh. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the partition comprises two overlapping sections 2.
