Abstract
1283822 Regenerable sorbent for CO 2 MINE SAFETY APPLIANCES CO 29 July 1970 [20 Aug 1969] 36768/70 Heading B1L CO 2 is separated from gas mixtures by sorption at <100C on a material comprising an inert porous carrier impregnated with a compound containing only C, H and N atoms and an imino group and which boils >200C. The sorbed CO 2 is desorbed by causing a front of condensing steam to pass through the sorbent. Although alumina, pumice and clays may be used as the carrier, activated carbon is preferred. Suitable imino compounds are tetraethylene pentamine and polyethyleneimine.
