Abstract

1459037 Spiral stairs GIETERIJ DOESBURG BV and AGTERHOF NV Gebr 13 June 1974 [13 June 1973 21 Jan 1974] 26369/74 Heading E1B A spiral staircase has a segmented newel post 3 to which are releasably secured stair tread support brackets 7. The brackets are in turn secured to readily removable stair treads 5. The support brackets 7 may have an extendible aim running in a channel between guides 25 to support the outer edge of the tread. The post and support brackets may be of Cast Aluminium or Iron and the tread may be of deal subsequently replaced after completion of building work on the site of errection by hardwood, stone or metal. The post segments may be interconnected by a single tensioned bolt or by a series of interconnected bolts with an internally threaded head. The staircase may be a single or double helix. Temporary treads may be replaced by permanent ones after erection of the staircase.
