Abstract
1458952 Electrostatic separators BRONSWERK-APPARATENBOUW BV 5 May 1975 [13 May 1974] 18704/75 Heading B2J A method of removing particles from a gas comprises passing a stream of the gas through a separating space 1 defined between two electrodes 2, 3 between which a non-ionizing electric field is established, at least one of the electrodes 'being provided with a covering of semi-conductive material 8 having a multitude of fibres projecting into the separating space. The electrodes may be co-axial cylinders, as shown, and the semi-conductive material may be asbestos in the form of a ribbon wound on the electrode, glass fabric treated with a conductive sizing material, a synthetic material with embedded metallic fibres, e.g. of stainless steel, or a textile fabric with fibres rendered conductive by vacuum deposition.
