Abstract

1458769 Hair-dryer SCHICK INC 15 Feb 1974 [20 Feb 1973] 6955/74 Heading A5R [Also in Division E2] A portable hair-dryer (10) Fig. 1 (not shown) comprises a head-assembly 28 pivotally mounted on a head-support assembly 18 upstanding from a base (12), the pivotal movement being locked when a pair of oppositely extending bolts 62, 64 pass through aligned openings 80, 66 and 82, 68 in the head-assembly and the head-support assembly, and the bolts 62, 64 being carried by the respective arms 84, 86 of a U-shaped spring 90 which biases them to their latching positions (full-lines). A traveller 100, slotted on to a central bridging portion 88 of the spring 90, when pushed in the direction of the arrow, causes the bolts to leave openings 80, 82 and unlock (dotted lines) the pivot. The unlatching movement of the traveller 100 is restricted by its abutment against a curved wall 44 of the head support assembly. The angles between spring arms 84, 86 and the bridging portion remain unchanged during the flexing of the spring.
