Abstract

1,234,325. Dry shavers. CARINTHIA ELEKTROGERATE G.m.b.H. 17 July, 1969 [22 July, 1968], No. 36144/69. Heading B4B. A cutter head for dry-shavers and like apparatus comprises a cutter head frame 1 and an upper cutter 6 formed by a resilient frame 11, 12, 21, 22 which is provided with teeth 13, 14 adapted to co-operate with teeth 9, 10 on a movable lower cutter 7, the frame being held in the cutter head under initial tension with a curvature which is concave towards the lower cutter. The frame 1 is provided with projections 15a to 15d having recesses 16a to 16d into which the frame can be clipped; the projections 15c and 15d have additional recesses 18c, 18d in order to facilitate the clipping operation. End walls 19, 20 of the head frame 1 are provided with noses 23, 24 which raise the frame members 21, 22 in order to provide the curvature, the noses having bevels which allow the frame members 21, 22 to be easily fitted into the recesses. In the modification shown in Fig. 8, the resilient frame is held in a curved position by means of support elements 35 each having a projection 37 adapted to engage in an aperture in the frame members 21, 22 and being adjustable within guides 39 formed on end walls 38 of the head; the elements are locked by screws 40. In a further modification (Fig. 10, not shown) the elements 35 are replaced by end members (41) formed on a bracket (42), the end members (41) having apertures adapted to be engaged with projections (44) formed on the end wall 38. The bracket may also serve as a support for springs (47) for pressing the lower cutter into contact with the upper cutter.
