Abstract

When the card is used for the first time, the user himself selects a secret number (P1) used as key number, which he wishes to use together with the card, and enters this number into the device (38) so that strict secrecy of the key number (P1) is ensured. Possible applications for the device are sales, security lock or bank systems. In the latter case, the balance (R3) of the user can be used for checking the secret number input in all further cases of use after the first use of the card. <IMAGE>
