Abstract

1458286 Magnetic disc record assemblies SPERRY RAND CORP 24 May 1974 [29 May 1973] 23272/74 Heading G5R In a magnetic disc memory using flying heads cooperating with a plurality of rotatable magnetic record discs 23, adjacent discs 23 are separated by a smooth unbroken cylindrical wall 24, a supply 45, 47, 48, 49, 52, 53, 55 provides clean filtered air between each pair of discs 23 close to the wall 24 and radially inward of the heads, and a shroud surrounding the discs restricts the outflow of air from the peripheries of the discs. The shroud may include parts of the head support structure 19, printed circuit boards and additional curved panels.
