Abstract

1457204 Fuel compositions BASF AG 26 April 1974 [28 April 1973] 18384/74 Heading C5G A hydrocarbon fuel for an internal combustion engine contains from 1-1000 p.p.m. by weight of (a) at least one anticorrosive triazole and of (b) at least one amide of an aliphatic polyamine with one or more C 11 -C 20 fatty acids. The triazoles may have the general formula where R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> independently denote H or C 1-6 alkyl or together form with the linking carbon atoms of the hetero ring of the triazole a substituted or unsubstituted benzene or naphthalene ring and R<SP>3</SP> denotes H, C 1-6 alkyl, or substituted or unsubstituted phenyl. The amides may be derived from aliphatic polyamines having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms and from 2-4 nitrogen atoms. Alcohol, amine or polyglycol carburettor anti-icing agents may also be present.
