Abstract

1456641 Making laminated panels IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 7 Oct 1974 [29 Oct 1973] 50229/73 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] Plasterboard, or steel and plasterboard, sheets are laminated by the in situ foaming between them of a low-density polyurethane/ polyurea-bonded aggregate made by coating the entire surface of a low-density inorganic filler, of bulk density #700 kg./m.<SP>3</SP>, with water, and mixing it with a polyurethane prepolymer composition. The foaming, is followed by setting. The filler may be, e.g. expanded clay, clay balls, or vermiculite, or pumice, broken foamed concrete, or hollow glass spheres and may include chopped foam scrap. The water may contain a a water-soluble dyestuff or a pigment dispersion, or a thickener, e.g. Na alginate, Na carboxymethyl cellulose or Na silicate. The internal faces of the sheets may first be spray-coated with a less viscous formulation of the composition.
