Abstract

1455651 Spin driers CALOR 16 Jan 1974 [12 Feb 1973] 02109/74 Heading F4G [Also in Division F2] A spin drier has a rotary drum housed within an enclosure 1 closed by a cover 2, a pedal 4 which when actuated causes through opening a switch 24 via a pivoted T-shaped tab 20 and preferably a brake stopping of the drum and through a system of rods 3 unfastening of the cover 2. The leg 20a of the T-shaped tab 20 is operatively connected to a tongue 26 which is moved by the tab 20 in actuation by the pedal 4, reverse movement of the system of rods 3 on closing the cover pivoting the tab 20 through the tongue 26 to close the switch 24. The tab 20 on actuation of the pedal 4 is pivoted by a cam 16. The system of rods 3 comprises upper and lower rods 7, 8 which interfit at 9 the lower rod 8 being actuated by the pedal through a buffer spring 14. A hook 36 which causes the fastening of the cover 2 is pivotally mounted and actuated by the system of rods 3 through a spring-loaded dashpot arrangement 38.
