Abstract

1455577 Jigs; stops; multiple gauging stops J BARRATT & CO (ENG) Ltd 26 July 1974 [30 June 1973] 31270/73 Headings B3C, B3B and B3W A jig comprises a shaft 42, a series of arms 60 slidably mounted on the shaft being adapted to be secured axially to the shaft but rotationally free of the shaft at any desired spacing therealong, each arm being provided with an abutment face on part 64 and a stop face, the lower face of flange 62, and being associated with a complementary collar 52 which is likewise axially adjustable but is adapted to be secured angularly to the shaft and has an abutment lug 56. A base plate 36 has a cut-out and is movable to and fro via worm 16. In operation the collars 52 are set on the shaft at predetermined positions and at suitable angular positions. A workpiece 38 is moved to abut the first part 64 so that an operation can be made on the workpiece at the correct position. The shaft is rotated by handle 50 and lug 56 rotates arms 60 to allow the workpiece to move underneath and up to and contact part 64 of the second arm. This arm is not moved by rotation of the shaft due to a different angular setting of the finger 56. Further movement is carried out in a similar way.
