Abstract

1454840 Tube condenser for multistage evaporator SOC ITALIANA RESINE SIR SpA 12 Dec 1974 [28 Dec 1973] 53858/74 Heading B1B A condenser for multistage flash-evaporator for saline water of the type comprising a horizontally elongated tubular shell, transverse partition walls in the shell defining in the latter a sequence of evaporation chambers for a stream of saline water serially flowing through the chambers, and a condenser in each of the chambers the condenser comprising a bundle of horizontal, mutually parallel condenser tubes (12) extending between a pair of head plates (10) the bundle of tubes comprising a first subbundle (16) located in a region above two further sub-bundles (22 and 24), a baffle plate (30A, 30B) separates the region of said first bundle from the said two further sub-bundles, the said baffle plate having a transverse crosssectional shape sloping from the outside to the inside of the condenser and being formed with at least one discharge aperture (32) in the lowermost part of its cross-sectional shape, the said two further sub-bundles being arranged below said baffle plate in regions transversely separated from each other by a tube-free zone (26) extending vertically from the said discharge aperture to the bottom side of the condenser.
