Abstract
1454747 Rotary positive-displacement fluidmachines UNITED STIRLING (SWEDEN) AB & CO KB 16 Jan 1975 1868/75 Heading F1F [Also in Division F2] Secondary sealing for a piston or piston-rod occurs at an interface 11, 12, the plane of which is perpendicular to the primary sealing interface at its line of intersection therewith. The intersection lies in the middle third of the axial extent of the sealing surface of metal sealing ring 6. The sealing surfaces may be lined with layers 8, 9 of plastics e.g. P.T.F.E. Instead of the surface 12 being provided on a separate metal ring 7, the surface (12') Fig. 3 (not shown) is formed as a stepped part of the groove. Ring (6') is of plastics. In another form a ring (6"), Fig. 4 (not shown) seals a rotary piston engine or pump.
