Abstract

1454608 Condenser-compressor units; heat exchanger elements BORG-WARNER CORP 20 Sept 1974 [2 Jan 1974] 41144/74 Headings F4H F4S and F4V A condenser-compressor unit, preferably to be placed outdoors, comprises a base 11 upon which is mounted a compressor 14; an inverted U-shaped condenser structure 19 in the form of a sinusoidally bent tubular member 20 passing through fins 22 disposed perpendicularly to the longitudinal runs of the tubular member; a pair of oppositely disposed end panels 26, 27 closing the open sides of the condenser structure, each said panel having a venturi inlet 40, 41; and a pair of fans 35, 36 driven by a motor 32 and located to draw air into the unit through the respective inlets and force it out through the condenser structure. Protective gutters 42, 43 are also provided adjacent each inlet opening 40, 41.
