Abstract
1454295 Valves ALFRED TEVES GmbH 30 Nov 1973 [20 Dec 1972] 55638/73 Heading F2V In an electromagnetically operated valve the armature 1 comprises two plates which pivot on the outer edges, the inner edges having semicircular cut-out portions the edges of which engage under a collar 12 of an operating member 13 to which a valve closure member 7 is attached. The plates are attached to the member 13 by means of clips 6 which engage an annular element 16 located on the member 13 by a collar 15. The armature is biased by a starshaped spring 5 a central opening of which engages the annular element 16, the outer ends engaging a step in the housing wall. A filter 8 is provided over an inlet 18 to the valve. In alternative embodiments, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown), in the form of three-way valves for use in anti-skid brake control systems, the lift valve 7 is replaced by pressure-balanced spool valves. In the embodiment of Fig. 4, pressure at an outlet point (34) connected to a brake cylinder is fed to each end of the valve spool which comprises two mechanically connected pistons (36) (37) of slightly different diameters. In the embodiment of Fig. 5, pressure at an inlet port (65) is fed to each end of the valve spool which comprises a free piston (52) abutting the spool member proper which is connected to the armature plates.
