Abstract
1453602 Measuring the turbidity of different fluids GAM RAD Inc 28 Nov 1973 [14 Dec 1972] 55255/73 Heading G1A [Also in Division G2] In a device, Fig. 1, for measuring the turbidity of a fluid flowing through a tube 16 (by attenuation or scattering) at least two windows, the distance between which may be varied to accomodate different types of fluid, are provided in the tube. One window is associated with a light source 33 and the other window is on a slidable tube 49 that has a photo-resistor or the like 87 at one end so that the photo-resistor can receive light that has been attenuated by the fluid. In another embodiment Fig. 5, two sets of opposite sources 32a, 32b are used and both the sources as well as the detectors are associated with slidable tubes for varying the path length of the light through the fluid.
