Abstract

1452939 Reflectors INFRARODTEKNIK AB 19 Oet 1973 48959/73 Heading F4R A reflector assembly for use with an elongated source of radiant energy comprises a profiled reflector body composed of two symmetrical halves 1, 2 joined by fastenings such as bolts 5 and nuts 6. The body has an elliptically curved supporting surface for a flexible reflecting strip 3, the strip being supported at its longitudinal edges by stop members or notches 8, 10 and being so dimensioned that it is pressed against the supporting surface when the halves 1, 2 are drawn together by the fastenings. Longitudinal recesses 7, 9 are provided in the body behind the longitudinal edges of the strip so that the strip can be resiliently deformed into the recesses during the joining of the halves of the body or during thermal expansion of the strip. A tube 20 for cooling fluid may be clamped in grooves 14- 17 in the contact surfaces of the body halves 1, 2, or alternatively cooling ducts (23-26, Fig. 2, not shown) may be formed in the body.
