Abstract

1452399 Electric resistance heating WIGO GOTTLOB WIDMANN & SOHNE KG 18 Jan 1974 [31 Jan 1973] 02529/74 Heading A4E [Also in Divisions H3-H5] In a coffee percolator of the type in which hotwate passes through coffee powder in a filter and prepared coffee runs into a jug positioned on a base portion of the percolator housing, the base h has a hot-plate consisting of a metal plate b, a collar a and an electric resistance heating element c pressed against the metal plate by a resilient supporting plate g, both metal plate and supporting plate being supported by the collar, the hot-plate being retained in the base by fixing means formed on and integral with the collar engaging with the base of, of the percolator housing the intention being to reduce heat-transfer from the heating surface of the hot-plate to the percolator base. The collar engages with hooked spigots of the base h' by means of apertured depending lugs n, i and with projection m of the base by apertures o as Figs. I and 4. Projection (k) of the collar, Fig. 9 (not shown) may engage in apertures of the base. The collar may be gripped between two half mouldings of the base S1, S2, between a rim and projections z of the collar, Fig. 15. The metal plate is either flat with lugs to engage as bayonet catches in the collar or is dished with apertured lugs to be engaged by projections of the collar Figs. 10-13 (not shown). The collar may be thermally insulating.
