Abstract
1452293 Motor protective systems CANADIAN GENERAL ELECTRIC CO Ltd 9 Oct 1973 [11 Oct 1972] 47130/73 Heading H2K A motor protective system has transformerresistor units 13 producing voltages proportional to the line currents and these are used to control a circuit having resistor R2 and capacitor C2 simulating the thermal characteristics of the motor between a conductor 17 and one busbar 15 of a D.C. source. Transistors Q1 and Q2 form a voltage dependent current valve circuit between conductor 17 and the other bus-bar 16 of the D.C. source and transistor Q3 forms a second such valve connected to Zener diode Z1. Under stalling or running overload a voltage is produced at 17 allowing a diode D4 to conduct, whereon transistors Q4 to Q6 will turn on and a switching signal will appear at O. The overcurrent trip level is set by resistor R10 and the stall overload time is set by resistor R8.
