1452000 Metallic pigments for coating compositions MITSUI TOATSU KAGAKU KK 8 July 1974 [7 July 1973 16 July 1973] 30212/74 Heading C3P A metal powder encapsulated within and bonded chemically to a polymer is used as a pigment in either a powder coating composition comprising an acrylate or methacrylate ester copolymer having a Tg#20‹ or a solution or dispersion of a coating resin. The encapsulated metal powder is made by polymerizing an ethylenic monomer or monomer mixture on to cleaned particles of metal using conventional free radical initiators.
