Abstract
145,087. Saupe, E. [Firm of]. July 20, 1914, [Convention date]. Warp machines.-Relates to machines employing two rows of bearded needles for the production of warp fabrics having the same appearance on both sides. The movements necessary for formation of the loops are simplified by causing the knocking-over to be effected by means of the lower nibs b<3> of the sinkers b<1> instead of bv means of the nibs b<2> as heretofore. Fig. 4 shows the needles a<1> being pressed by the bar c<1>. The sinker and knocking-over bits b<1> are first moved in the direction of the arrow 1 so as to release the old loops held by the nibs b<2> and then in the direction of the arrow 2 so that the prolongations b<3> place the old loops on the pressed beards. The needles a' are then moved downwards to cast off the old loops. The hooked-shaped presser c<1> is suitably arranged so as to leave sufficient room for the sinkers &c. b<1> to execute their movements, and its subsequent movement is deferred until the sinkers have been moved away. The sequence of movements is repeated on the needles a. Instead of or in addition to the movement of the sinkers in the direction of the arrow 2 there may be a movement of the needle and presser bar in the opposite direction.
