Abstract

Monoazo dyes are prepared by coupling o-oxydiazoaryl sulphonic acids with 5 : 8-dichlor-1-oxynaphthalene; the products are mordant wool dyes. According to examples, 2-aminophenol-4-sulphonic acid, 4-chlor-2-aminophenol-6 -sulphonic acid, and 6-nitro-2-aminophenol-4 -sulphonic acid, are employed as diazo components; these products give reddish-blue, blue, and black shades respectively with chrome mordants.
