1449555 Key lock VICTOR COMPTOMETER CORP 14 Nov 1974 [7 Feb 1974] 49257/74 Heading E2A [Also in Division H1] A function control key lock comprises upper and lower suports 13, 21 respectively spaced outwardly and inwardly axially of the lock and carrying upper and lower casing sections 24, 26 secured together e.g. by studs 18 and screws 19 to form a hollow cylindrical casing with an aperture 27 in its wall, a key-controlled lock barrel 17 rotatable therein between locked and unlocked positions and having a locking plate 38 secured thereto which cooperates with aperture 27 to limit rotational movement of barrel 17, and a plunger 47 mounted in the casing urged upwardly by spring 59 so that inward longitudinal movement of barrel 17 when unlocked will depress plunger 47 to actuate a switch 52. Aperture 27 comprises upper and lower slots 29, 31 defined by upper and lower edges 62, 61 and shelf 28, upper slot 29 being circumferentially longer. When barrel 17 is in its locked position, projection 46 on plate 38 occupies the extreme leftward position in the upper slot 29 from which the barrel may be unlocked and rotated by key 33 to its unlocked position at the right of aperture 27, enabling inward longitudinal movement thereof to operate switch 52, where it may be retained by movement to the left of lower slot 31, in which position, barrel 17 is not fully locked and removal of key 33 is prevented. A protrusion 66 on plate 38 rendered flexible by slot 67 engages recesses (63, 64, Fig. 5 not shown) in casing 24 for snap-engagement when the barrel is in its locked or unlocked position. Plunger 47 has a spring-loaded tip 51.
