Abstract

1449225 Electrographic drum cleaning AGFA-GEVAERT AG 17 Sept 1973 [16 Sept 1972] 43584/73 Heading G2H A device for cleaning the photo-conductive layer 5 of a copying drum 4 rotating in the direction A, comprises a contra-rotating brush roller 13 covered with a pile of synthetic hair 14, and a cleaning fleece 16 which is pressed into contact with the pile 14 during its transport from a supply reel 18 to a take-up reel 15. The roller 13 and reel 15 are accommodated within a disposable cassette 12. Bearing extensions 17 from the cassette 12 support the reel 18, and the end of the upper wall 12e of the cassette 12 adjacent the drum 4 carries a flexible sealing lip 19. The cleaning fleece 16 is drawn from the reel 18 in the direction C over the outside of the lower wall 12a of the cassette 12, around an edge 12b and against a projecting member 12c, between which edges it flexibly contacts the pile 14, and thence passes to the take-up reel 15.
