Abstract

1448327 Recovering metal from slag LURIA BROS & CO Inc 30 Oct 1974 [2 Nov 1973] 46928/74 Heading C7D Metal pieces containing adherent slag in open crevices and fissures are broken to expose the slag and are then tumbled while exposed to a shot or grit blast whereby a metallic product is recovered substantially free of slag. The product may be blast furnace iron containing up to 0.05% S, which may be charged to an oxygen blown converter, although the process may also be applied to Al, Zn or Cu.
