Abstract
1448148 Piano bushing NIPPON GAKKI SEIZO KK 19 Sept 1973 43980/73 Heading G5J A bushing to act as bearing for a hammer or damper pivot pin in a piano comprises spaced inner 22 and outer 25 sleeves connected integrally at one end 24. The bore tapers generally over its length from end 24 to end 21, but the periphery of the inner sleeve tapers faster. In an alternative embodiment both inner and outer surfaces of the inner sleeve taper in discrete steps. Suitable materials for the bushing are PTFE or polyformaldehyde. The pivot pin fixed in a hammer butt or corresponding damper part is supported in the ears of a bifurcated member by two bushings, inserted from the outer faces of the ears. Alternatively the outer body of each bushing may be integral with a respective one of the ears.
